Share your expertise. Inspire fellow school counselors. Contribute strategies that make an immediate impact in schools across Pennsylvania. PSCA welcomes engaging, practical presentations that support student success and strengthen the counseling profession.

What We Are Looking For

The Pennsylvania School Counselors Association is soliciting proposals for presentations promoting evidence-based programs in the domains of academic achievement, emotional growth, social development, career exploration, and post secondary planning. Presentations should:

  • Highlight the latest techniques and practices that are relevant, innovative, and inclusive/multicultural in the field of school counseling.
  • Assist school counselors in demonstrating one or more school counseling standards.
  • Showcase proven programs, current research, learning outcomes, or practical skills of value to counselors (Pre-K through postsecondary), as well as district personnel, graduate students, and counselor educators.

Note: Presentations showcase best practices, current research, or skills of value to counselors, pre-K to postsecondary, as well as district personnel, graduate students and counselor educators.

Required Materials - Resume

In addition to completing the proposal form below, applicants are required to submit a PDF of their vitae or resume. The document should include degree(s), educational training, certifications, and licenses.

Review Process

PSCA will convene a committee to review and select conference sessions. Applicants will be notified via email by NCYI, the organization managing the conference, regarding acceptance by the middle of August.

The Lead Presenter will receive all communications and is responsible for sharing information with co-presenters, if applicable.

Information for Selected Presenters

Please review the information below before submitting your proposal. These details outline expectations and general procedures that apply to selected presenters. Additional instructions and deadlines will be provided in the acceptance email.

Travel & Hotel Arrangements

Presenters are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and covering all travel-related expenses.

Co-Presenters

All session-related communication will be sent to the Lead Presenter, who is responsible for sharing information with any co-presenters. Co-presenters must be identified at the time of proposal submission or submitted at least one month prior to the conference.

Session Materials (Handouts & Slides)

If you plan to use handouts or presentation slides, upload instructions will be provided in your acceptance email. Materials will be made available to attendees at the conference.

Wi-Fi & Audio/Visual Equipment

Conference will provide a LCD projector, fixed projection screen, a microphone if the room size warrants it.  However, the Conference will not be able to provide any other A/V equipment. You are responsible for providing your own laptop and dongle/appropriate adapter, if needed for your presentation. If your presentation requires sound for a video or sound effect, please make the necessary plan to provide that equipment on your own. If you need additional audio-visual equipment, please contact the hotel. Any arrangements you make with the hotel will be at your own expense.

The convention center is equipped with Wi-Fi Internet that is complimentary for all attendees. We highly recommend designing your session so that you will not need internet access, since it can be slow or unreliable.

Discounted Presenter Registration Rates

Presenters may register at the discounted presenter rate listed below. Registration includes full access to conference sessions and meal functions.

Presenters may choose to present their session and depart without registering. In this case, no registration fee will be charged; however, access to additional sessions, conference materials, name badge, and meal functions will not be included.
