When a youth, up to 19 years old, is at risk for suicide and faces a financial or social barrier to accessing mental health treatment, Second Wind Fund covers the cost of 12-20 sessions of therapy. Youth are initially granted 12 sessions, based on individual needs, their provider can request an extension for 8 additional sessions. For families who are not facing a financial or social barrier and need help finding a quality provider, Second Wind Fund can provide navigation assistance.

For many families, the high cost of higher education is a daunting proposition. Since 2002 we collaborate with schools, to conduct several hundred workshops each year. Our interactive workshop, Little-Known Secrets of Paying for College, teaches parents the rules of the game when it comes to financial aid, as well as the critical strategies to help them win that game—whether by qualifying for need-based aid or by maximizing cash flow and liquidity.

ABOUT THE SESSION:
Study after study shows that during adversity, the single, most important thing kids need is the calming presence of an adult champion. In this keynote, Dr. Michele Borba shares inspiring stories and examples of real educators who are those champions and prove they make a difference that helps our students bounce back and thrive. The key, she says, it that they use what we already have within us: hope, empathy, atmosphere, resilience, and trust (heart). CANCELLATION POLICY: If we are forced to cancel the CSCA Conference because of a “force majeure” event, such as a government restriction on large gatherings that cover the intended size of the conference, then we will issue full refunds of the registrations. Otherwise, our normal cancellation policy will be upheld: There will be no refunds after September 1, 2023. All cancellations before September 1, 2023 will be refunded less a $50 handling fee. The conference is not responsible for and cannot give refunds due to problems beyond its control such as weather or school closings.
